Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
goBuildy is provided by two parties, depending on the country and the payment method:
- goBuildy Technologies LLC, a Wyoming (United States) limited liability company, at 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA.
- Héctor Fabián Piñatares Méndez, an individual based in San Jacinto, Canelones, Uruguay.
Both are responsible for the personal data goBuildy processes and apply this same policy. In this policy, "goBuildy" and "we" mean both. We operate gobuildy.com, our customers' dashboard and the websites we build for them. This policy explains what personal data we process, why, who we share it with and how we protect it.
For any question about this policy, email hello@gobuildy.com or use our contact form.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Email address: provided when you generate a site. Used to deliver your site, send transactional notifications, and create your account.
- Prompt text: the description of your business you enter to generate a site. Sent to our AI provider to produce your website HTML.
- Clarification answers: optional follow-up answers you provide when our AI asks for more detail about your business.
- Domain registrant contact: if you purchase a domain through goBuildy (T2 Domain Purchase plan), ICANN regulations require us to collect your name, address, phone number, and email as the registered domain owner. This information is submitted to Route 53 (Amazon Web Services) as your domain registrar.
- Phone number and WhatsApp conversations: optional, and only if you start the conversation. Your number can reach us two ways: you type it into the optional field on the help form, or you message us on WhatsApp from the button on our site. In the second case we never ask for it: we receive it because you opened the chat, the same as messaging any other contact. We use it only to answer you about your site, never to send you promotions. If you ask us to stop writing, we stop.
- Contact summary: if you generate a site and give us your email, we keep a separate summary with your address, the language and country you came from, your business category, the full text of the descriptions you wrote and of your answers to the clarification questions (the last five at most, up to 9,000 characters each), how many times you generated, and how far you got. We use it to write to you about goBuildy later on. Unlike the preview, whose copy is deleted 45 days after its link closes, this summary is kept until you ask to be removed.
- Payment information: we do not store your payment card details. Depending on your country you pay with dLocal Go, Mercado Pago or PayPal, which handle payment data under their own privacy policies and PCI-DSS compliance.
Information collected automatically
- IP address: we use it when you ask to generate a site, to prevent abuse. We keep it for up to 2 days, then it is deleted automatically.
- Approximate location (city): when you reach the clarification step before generating a site, we infer your city from your IP address using the MaxMind GeoLite2 database, which runs locally on our servers (your IP is never sent to MaxMind). The inferred city is pre-filled into the “Where are you located?” question so you only need to confirm or correct it. You can edit or clear the pre-filled value at any time. The city name is used solely to improve the relevance of your generated website; it is not stored separately from your prompt text.
- Browser fingerprint: a random number stored in your browser. We use it to avoid processing the same generation request twice and to prevent abuse. It is not used to follow you across other sites.
- Cloudflare Turnstile challenge token: a cryptographic proof-of-work token generated by Cloudflare's Turnstile service when you submit a generation request. Verified server-side to distinguish humans from bots. Not stored beyond the verification request.
- Device and browser: when you generate a preview we store the identifier your browser sends (User-Agent), from which we derive something like "iPhone · Safari". We use it to know which devices goBuildy is used on and to fix what breaks on any of them. It is stored with the preview and follows the same retention.
- Opening a sample we sent you: if we sent you a link to a sample of your site, when you open it we store the date and time of the first opening, the device and browser (User-Agent), the country you opened it from (inferred by our content delivery network from the connection) and how many times you opened it again. We do not store your IP address. We use it only to know whether the sample reached you and to avoid messaging you more than needed. It is deleted together with your contact details if you ask us to remove them.
- Visits to the sites we build for our customers: when someone opens a page of a site built with goBuildy, we add that visit to daily counters: the hour and day of the week, the approximate country, region and city (inferred by our content delivery network from the connection), whether it is a phone or a computer and which browser, which page was opened and whether the visit came from an ad or from a link with campaign tags. We use no cookies, we do not store the IP address and we do not record each visit individually: only totals. We discard our own visits and those of bots. The totals are deleted after 400 days.
Usage measurement (Google Analytics)
- Since 1 August 2026 we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages work and which don't: page views, where you arrived from, and product events (you started a generation, you completed a payment). We do not advertise, we do not build profiles, and we do not sell or share this data with anyone for their marketing.
- If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, nothing is stored until you accept. We use Google Consent Mode with a regional rule: storage starts denied in those countries and we show you a notice so you can decide. If you decline, the site works exactly the same.
- The admin panel is excluded from measurement entirely.
Information we do NOT collect
- We do not use Meta Pixel or any third-party advertising trackers.
- Beyond the Google Analytics measurement cookie described above (and only with your consent where that applies), we do not set tracking cookies. The only other cookies are those set by Cloudflare Turnstile during the bot-prevention flow.
- We do not collect or infer demographic information, browsing history, or behavioral profiles.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Providing the service: generating your website, provisioning your domain or subfolder, and delivering your live site.
- Transactional email: magic-link login, provisioning status updates, and urgency reminders about your 72-hour free preview expiry.
- WhatsApp messaging: replying to you when you open the conversation from the button on our site, and only about your site. We do not start conversations or send promotions on this channel.
- Booking notifications on a business's behalf: if a business turned them on and you agreed, sending from its WhatsApp number the confirmation and reminder of your appointment, and stopping them when you reply "STOP". They are not messages from goBuildy and carry no promotions.
- Billing: creating checkout sessions and managing your subscription.
- Abuse prevention: checking with Cloudflare Turnstile that whoever requests a site is a person, and stopping abusive requests.
- Telling you about goBuildy: if you generated a site and left us your email, we may write to you later about the product or an offer. Every one of those emails carries an unsubscribe link at the bottom: one click and we stop, with no login and no explanation required. Unsubscribing does not affect transactional email (your invoice, access to your account).
- Legal compliance: complying with applicable laws, responding to legal requests, and enforcing our Terms of Service.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
4. Our Service Providers (Sub-processors)
We use the following third-party services to operate goBuildy. Each is bound by contractual data-processing terms:
| Provider | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services (AWS) | Hosting, storage, email delivery, domain registration | All user-submitted data; processed in the United States |
| Google (Gemini AI) | AI-powered website generation | Prompt text, clarification answers, and any logo you upload |
| Anthropic (Claude AI) | AI-powered website generation (alternate vendor) | Prompt text, clarification answers, and any logo you upload |

In case 2, the business contracts Mercado Pago directly. | (1) Your email. You enter your card or account details on Mercado Pago and we never see them.(2) If you book with a deposit: your name, your phone and, if you gave it, your email, with the day, time and amount of the deposit. Mercado Pago sends us back the email you paid with, so the business knows who paid. |
| PayPal | Charging your goBuildy subscription, if you pay with PayPal. | Your email. You pay on PayPal, with your account or a card, and we never see those details. |
| WhatsApp (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited; Meta Platforms, Inc. in the US and Canada) | (1) Conversations you start with goBuildy from the button on our site.(2) Automatic booking notifications a business sends from its own number, if it turned them on and you agreed. In case 2, the business contracts Meta directly. | (1) Your number and the content of your messages; the button opens your own WhatsApp app and nothing is sent until you send the message.(2) Your name, your number, the day and time of the appointment, and the business's name and address. Meta processes them in the US and other countries and keeps each message for up to 30 days. |
| Cloudflare (Turnstile) | Bot and abuse prevention | IP address; no personal data stored by Cloudflare beyond the challenge |
| MaxMind (GeoLite2) | IP-to-city lookup for location pre-fill | The GeoLite2-City database runs locally on our servers: your IP address is never transmitted to MaxMind. No data is shared with MaxMind. |
5. Data Retention
- Free previews: The preview link stays open 72 hours, or longer if we extend it. When it closes, we keep a copy of the site and of what you wrote for 45 days, unpublished, so we can reopen it if you ask; then it is deleted. The one exception is the contact summary below, which keeps the descriptions you wrote.
- Images you upload: An image you uploaded to a preview you never bought is deleted along with that preview's copy, at most 45 days after the link closes. The exception is your logo: we keep it in your account so that, if you buy later, your site comes with it, and it is deleted when you ask to be removed. Before we store anything, we re-encode the file, which removes its embedded metadata: that includes the location a phone writes into a photo, which we neither need nor keep. If you buy, the image becomes part of your site and stays for as long as your site does.
- Samples we build for a business: If we reach out with a sample site for your business, we build it from the business's public information. The link stays open while we talk and closes 30 days after our last unanswered message, or earlier if you tell us you're not interested. If you ask us to delete it, we delete it, including any photo of a person.
- Contact summary: kept with no expiry date, because its whole purpose is to let us write to you once your preview no longer exists. It is deleted when you ask to be removed, either from the link at the bottom of any of our emails or by writing to us. Once removed, your address stays on a minimal suppression list (the email and the date, nothing else) whose only purpose is to make sure no future send reaches you again.
- Diagnostic capture (temporary): while we investigate why some visitors cannot complete the site brief, the first 120 characters of your business description and the email address you type may be stored even if you do not finish and generate a site. This is used only to debug the form, is never used to contact you, and is deleted automatically 14 days after it is recorded. You can ask us to delete it sooner through our contact form.
- Paying subscriber accounts: your email, site slug, and subscription metadata are retained while your subscription is active and for 30 days after cancellation (to allow reactivation), then permanently deleted.
- IP address from site requests: deleted automatically within 2 days.
- Domain registrant contact: retained for the duration of domain ownership and transferred to the new registrar if you request a domain transfer-out. Deleted from our systems 30 days after a completed transfer.
- Transactional email logs: AWS SES delivery receipts are retained for 30 days for bounce/complaint handling, then purged.
- WhatsApp conversations: they live in the WhatsApp app, on your side and ours, like any other chat. You can delete your side at any time. If you ask us to stop writing, we keep only the minimal record needed to not write again.
- Bookings taken by businesses that use goBuildy: a business can take bookings on its website with goBuildy's calendar. The data from those bookings belongs to the business: the business is the controller and goBuildy stores it on the business's behalf, as processor (Uruguayan Law 18.331). For each booking we keep the name, phone number, email if given, the note, a fingerprint of the IP address and, if a deposit was paid, the payment reference (never the card). The booking is deleted automatically one year after its date. The business also keeps a profile of each person, with their details and past bookings, for as long as it uses the calendar.Anyone who wants to see, correct or delete their data should ask the business they booked with. The business can delete it from its dashboard, and we help it respond on time.
- Permission for WhatsApp notifications: the business can ask on its booking page whether the person wants a WhatsApp confirmation and a reminder. It is optional and the booking stands either way. The answer is stored with its date. If the person tells the business some other way (in person, by phone), the business records it in the profile, along with how and who recorded it. It is deleted with the profile.
- Messages received by businesses that use goBuildy: a business can receive messages through the contact form on its site. The business is the controller and goBuildy stores them on its behalf, as processor. For each message we keep the name, the email or phone, the message and a fingerprint of the IP address. It is deleted one year after it arrived or after the last time the business used it to reply from its dashboard.
- People invited to help on one of our customers' sites: if the owner of a site built with goBuildy invites you to add content to it (for example, a real estate agency's listings), that business is the controller of your data and goBuildy is the processor holding it on its behalf (Uruguayan Law 18.331). We keep your email, which the owner sees next to each listing you add or edit, and a record of what you did (add, edit, publish, hide) with its date, deleted automatically after one year. An invitation you don't accept is deleted automatically after 7 days. When the owner removes your access, it stops immediately; your account remains until you ask us to delete it.
6. WhatsApp Notifications from Businesses That Use goBuildy
A business that uses goBuildy's calendar can send automatic WhatsApp notifications to the people who book with it: a confirmation when the booking is confirmed and a reminder before the appointment.
- Only if you said yes. With the checkbox on the booking page, or by telling the business, which records it in your profile. Without that yes, no notification is sent.
- Who writes to you. The business you booked with, from its own WhatsApp number. The business is the controller of your data, and goBuildy builds and sends the notification on its behalf, as processor. We never write to you on our own behalf or use your number for anything else.
- What it says. Your name, the business's name, the day and time of the appointment and, if the business added it, its address. Never the reason for your visit or the note you left when booking.
- How it travels. Through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform, which the business contracts directly with Meta when it connects its number: with Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, or with Meta Platforms, Inc. if the business is in the United States or Canada. Meta processes messages in its data centers in the United States and other countries, and keeps each one for up to 30 days so it can be delivered. Under its own terms, Meta also uses some data for the safety and integrity of WhatsApp.
- What we keep. With your booking, whether the notification was sent, delivered, read or failed. It is deleted with the booking (section 5).
- What you write to the business. When a business connects its number, WhatsApp also delivers that number's messages to us. We only check whether a message says "STOP". We do not read or keep anything else: the business reads it in its WhatsApp, as always.
- How to stop them. Reply "STOP" to any notification, or ask the business. Your profile is set to "doesn't want them", with the date, and you get a reply confirming it. Your booking stays as it is.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, delete or export your personal data. Ask the site where you left your data. If it was a business's website, that business is the controller: contact it, and it will ask us. If it was gobuildy.com, email hello@gobuildy.com and we will respond within 5 business days.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to opt out of sale (we do not sell personal information), and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
8. How to Ask Us to Delete Your Data
Ask the site where you left your data:
- On a business's website (for example, when booking an appointment): contact the business. It can delete your data from its dashboard or ask us to do it.
- On gobuildy.com: email hello@gobuildy.com with the subject "Delete my data", or use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails. We will respond within 5 business days.
- If you get WhatsApp notifications from a business: reply "STOP" to stop them. To delete your data, ask the business (first point). Messages already delivered are on your phone and you can delete them. Meta keeps a copy of each message for up to 30 days and then deletes it.
- If you own a business and connected your WhatsApp to goBuildy: disconnect it from your dashboard, or email hello@gobuildy.com with the subject "Disconnect my WhatsApp" and we do it within 5 business days. From then on no notification is sent and we delete our access to your account. Notifications already sent stay with each booking, like the rest of your bookings. Your WhatsApp Business account remains yours and is governed by your contract with Meta.
9. Security
We encrypt data in transit and at rest, and make automatic backups. Keys and access credentials, ours and those businesses give us to collect payments or send WhatsApp notifications, are stored encrypted and never end up in system logs.
No security system is perfect. If you discover a vulnerability, please report it responsibly via our contact form.
10. Children
goBuildy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our service changes. Each change takes effect when it is published on this page.
